In the last month of his life – when he knew he was going to die – Dr Edward Bach asked his friends to continue his work. He expressed his belief that his work would “break the power of disease and set humanity free”. In Hungary today, too, we should perhaps no longer be primarily concerned with making people aware of Dr Bach’s method, as more and more people are discovering this wonderful healing system.

The real shortcoming is the scarcity of first-hand knowledge of this subject, a situation which we seek to remedy with the second, greatly expanded edition of this small volume, which brings together all of Dr Bach’s papers and lectures from 1930 to 1936, in which he detailed his ever-improving system and tools of healing theory, the flower essences.

Bach Flower Therapy quickly spread around the world, and since then, in many places (Australia, Alaska, California), “tailor-made” series of essences have been made from plants specific to the region. We now have a wealth of data to show that these flower essences have cured countless people of their illnesses and even more of their emotional problems.

Perhaps the latter is more important, as these remedies are primarily concerned with restoring a healthy emotional state, and curing illness as a consequence of mental imbalance.

Classification of flower essences:

Dr Bach divided the flower essences into 7 groups:

1. Fear: Mimulus, Rock rose, Aspen, Red chestnut, Cherry Plum
2. Uncertainty: Scleranthus, Wilde oat, Cerato, Hornbeam, Gentian, Gorse
3. Disinterest in what is happening now: Clematis, Honeysuckle, White chestnut, Chestnut bud, Olive, Mustard, Wild rose
4. Loneliness: Impatiens, Water violet, Heather
5. Hypersensitivity to other people’s ideas and external influences: Agrimony, Centaury, Walnut, Holly
6. Desperate: Larch, Pine, Elm, Sweet chestnut, Star of bethlehem, Willow, Oak, Crab apple
7. Excessive concern for the well-being of others: Chicory, Vervain, Vine, Beech, Rock water

In Bach Flower Therapy there is also a pre-mixed blend called the First Aid Drop or RESCUE Remedy.

The blend helps to maintain mental balance and calm after a difficult situation or argument.

The drop can be used in many ways, making a poultice, dropping it into bath water or even spraying it into the air in addition to traditional picking.

It is recommended to keep some with you at all times, as you never know when an unexpected situation might arise where you might need it.
